We are honored to welcome Yossi Klein Halevi to Detroit. He will give a public lecture "The End of the Post-Holocaust Era" at Congregation Shaarey Zedek on Tuesday, April 28th.
The post Holocaust era was a time of historical Jewish
revival and renewal defined by the establishment of the state of Israel and
success for Jews throughout the world, especially in America. It was a
time marked by security, influence, and optimism about Jewish continuity.
October 7 brought an end to that era revealing deep cracks and vulnerabilities.
It sparked a need to reassess Jewish safety, identity, and peoplehood.
Join Yossi Klein Halevi as he unpacks what characterized the post
Holocaust era and what this shift means for today’s Jewish communities locally
and beyond.
Yossi Klein Halevi is a Senior Fellow at
the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem, the author of The New York
Times bestseller, Letters to My Palestinian Neighbor, and
co-host of the Institute’s award-winning podcast, For Heaven’s Sake, with Donniel Hartman.
Make sure to RSVP here for this special learning
opportunity. Dessert reception to follow.
