We are honored to welcome Elana Stein Hain, Senior Faculty Member at the Shalom Hartman Institute to Chicago. She will give a public lecture on Thursday, May 15th at 6:30pm at Anshe Sholom B'nai Israel.
Religious Zionist Visions for Democracy and Shared
Society
The relationship between religion and democracy
is not uncomplicated - for democracy, authority is human-centered, while for
religion, authority is God-centered. And yet, religious thinkers - specifically
religious Zionist thinkers - have developed deep thought about how they might
work together. In this presentation, we will examine a few of those approaches.
This discussion is especially important as both the challenges of democracy and
the challenges to democracy have become a central flashpoint within America and
Israel today.
Make sure to RSVP here for this special learning opportunity.
