We are honored to welcome Yehuda Kurtzer, President of the Shalom Hartman Institute to Detroit. He will give a public lecture "American Jews in a "Plastic Hour" on Tuesday, April 1st at 7:30pm at Temple Shir Shalom.
The political turbulence in America and in Israel over the past year and a half have stretched our attention, our emotions, and our commitments, and many of us feel that we are in a constant ‘reactive mode’ to the news cycle. But Jews are a future-oriented people, and we believe that we are agents of history rather than victims of it. How might we look differently at this moment of Jewish history in which we find ourselves? And what kind of moral and political agenda can we chart for American Jews to not only survive but thrive in this complicated moment?
Make sure to RSVP here for this special learning opportunity. Dessert reception to follow.
