Join us for a full day of virtual learning as well as in-person events across North America on September 30 to honor the shloshim* of the six hostages murdered last month, show solidarity with the 101 hostages still in captivity, and call on the Israeli government and the international community to prioritize their return.
As we reach the end of this first month of mourning, we will gather to learn in memory of Hersh Goldberg-Polin z”l, beloved cousin of our colleague Eliot Goldstein and a friend to many in the Hartman community, as well as Ori Danino z”l, Eden Yerushalmi z”l, Almog Sarusi z”l, Alex Lobanov z”l, and Carmel Gat z”l.
We hope you will join us to comfort one another and the mourners, think critically and morally about the challenges before us, and inspire one another to act and create a revolution for good.
This Day of Learning is presented in partnership with Academy of Jewish Religion, American Jewish University, Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning, Hadar, Hakhel, Hebrew College, Hebrew Union College, Jewish Theological Seminary, M2:
The Institute for Experiential Jewish Education,
Pardes North America, Ramah Camping Movement, Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, and Yeshivat Maharat (list in formation)
* In the Jewish tradition, we mark the end of the thirty days of mourning with a shift in ritual practices and often with learning to elevate the souls of the deceased.
