3. The Hartman Teen Fellowship is an ideas-based program. We are looking for young thinkers who ready to grappling with new ideas. Tell us about a book or article you read/an idea you encountered/or a speaker you heard in the past 2 years that impacted your perspective? How did it strengthen your thinking? How did it challenge your thinking? You may have come across this idea in a class, a book, online, from a conversation, etc. (250 words max)

4. Why are you applying to the Hartman Teen Fellowship? What are you hoping to gain from learning with the Hartman Institute? How will your experiences contribute to the Fellowship community?

Letter of Recommendation

Please list the first name, last name, and email address of your recommender. We have found the best recommendations are written by someone who personally knows the applicant well.

After you submit your application, your recommender will automatically receive a link to submit their letter. Be sure to speak with your recommender before submitting your application.

Your recommender will be asked to reflect on your interest in:

wrestling with complex ideas
text-based learning (previous Jewish text experience not required)
exploring questions of Jewish identity and Peoplehood
building inclusive, supportive, and collaborative community

Your letter of recommendation should be received within two weeks of submitting your application.
